Secrets, secrets are no fun

Posted Feb 07 2012 5:22am

unless you are a part of one ;) . Please tell me you remember this one from when you were a small child. I am pretty sure I sang it often, I didn’t like being left out.

Having said that I have been keeping a secret from you. It hasn’t been intentional, life just got in the way and I haven’t gotten a chance to tell you about it.

It is something I am soo very excited about and wish I could fast forward a year from now so it could be official!

I am getting my certificate to be a HEALTH COACH! I am going through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition . The program is so incredible and very supportive, all of the courses are done online, or on your iPad which is part of your tuition. The school is a little pricey but they have excellent payment plans and if you sign up and say I referred you you can get a discount!

Why I chose to become a health coach?

When I began my blog it started as a hobby, it was a way for me to express myself in a fun and different way and share my adventures in the kitchen with whoever wanted to read it. As months went on I realized how much I truly enjoy talking about nutrition. I have always strived to lead a healthy lifestyle so I am not sure why it took me so long to realize my calling.

At this point I was working at a job I was really unhappy at and doing A LOT of self reflecting and started considering going back to school for nutrition. But going back to school for nutrition meant I would pretty much have to start all over again and I don’t really have the money to do that at the moment. I knew I had to do something to.

A family friend told me about her friend doing IIN and loving it. Ironically on the same day my family friend told me about this program Brittany had posted about IIN and how she just received her certificate in the mail. I immediately emailed her and asked her a million questions about the program and upon her responses decided that this was the program for me!

Anyone who knows me knows I am a health “freak” and love to talk about food and ways in which you can make things healthier and better for you. I love to cook and bake healthy, hearty meals. I would much prefer to cook at home then go out because I know exactly what I am putting into the meal and in turn know exactly what I am putting into my body.

A lot of friends and family members will ask me for recipes, ideas and advice whether it is about something cooking or baking related or a piece of fitness advice. The moto of IIN is “why not get paid for what you love to do.” I will talk to anybody about healthy cooking, nutrition and exercise.

So there you have it, I am on my way to becoming a health coach and can’t wait to be “official” so I can start that chapter of my life!

If you have anymore questions about IIN, I would be happy to answer them for you. Feel free to email me at
