Saag meat & Mutton - Do - Pyaza

Saag Meat

Ingredients

1 kg mutton
1 kg palak
500 g onions, cut into rings
250 g cooking oil
25 g sabutmasala powder
( 4 green cardamoms, 3 cinnamon sticks , 4 cloves , 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg , 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and 1 teaspoon black pepper corns – Make a coarse powder of these ingredients )
2 teaspoon chilli powder
2 teaspoon salt ( or to taste )
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garammasala powder

Method

Heat oil in a kadai and add onions , salt and sabutmasala. Cook till the onion turn pink in color. Add meat pieces, chilli powder and coriander powder and simmer. Boil palak and grind it well. Add palak to the meat and cook till the meat is tender. Then add garammasala powder and bring to boil. Serve with naan / roti / rice.



Mutton - Do - Pyaza

Ingredients

1 kg meat
750 g onions, cut into rings
250 g oil
25 g sabutmasala (whole – cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves , cumin seeds , nutmeg and pepper corns )
2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garammasala powder
2 teaspoon salt ( or to taste )
1 teaspoon coriander powder
2 teaspoon ginger- garlic paste
2 tomatoes for decoration, cut into rings
250 g curd

Method

1, Deep – fry chopped onions in a pan and keep aside.

2, In another kadai add 2 teaspoon salt, sabutmasala along with the meat and stir fry. Add garlic paste and the remaining ingredients except garammasala powder and tomatoes.

3, Add fried onions , cover with a lid and cook for 25 – 30 minutes or till done. Sprinkle garammasala powder and decorate with tomatoes. Serve with Roti / naan.
