Raw Pizza: I’ll Never Give Up My Pizza!

Growing up I had an amazing Italian Uncle Frank. I still recall, with loving memories, our endless Christmas dinners at his home. Uncle Frank married Aunt Frances, my mother’s sister. So we now have an Italian Catholic and a Jewish merger. Worked out pretty great. It was at Uncle Frank’s table that I learned to LOVE Italian food. I mean really LOVE. Today it is still my favorite cuisine. As we grow together, I will bring you more Italian options.

When faced with my health crisis and quest for wellness, I was determined to find raw recipes to keep me happy. Raw Pizza was at the top of the list!

Crust
Both versions below can be done in one round /square crust or as larger crackers. In truth you can use any cracker recipe you have.
Tip: When using dehydrator sheets, spread your recipe on a flat surface before placing on the dehydrator trays.

There are a few variations here so be sure to experiment and find your favorites.

Crust: Version 1
1 cup Golden Flax seeds
½ cup coconut amino
1 cup water (preferably  alkaline )
1 cup raw almonds soaked

Combine in a food processor. Spread on dehydrator sheets and dehydrate at 105 degrees for about 4 hours. The flip the crust over onto the dehydrator trays, remove the sheets and continue to dehydrate for another 4 hours.

Crust: Version 2
1 cup sunflower seeds, soaked 4 hours
2 cups almond pulp from your  almond milk
1 onion
2 cloves garlic (fyi, I use 1 clove)
1 bell pepper
½ lemon
Italian seasoning
pepper

Combine all ingredients (except almond pulp) in a food processor. Pour into mixing bowl and add almond pulp. Mix with spatula or by hand.  Spread evenly over dehydrator sheets and dehydrate for about 18 hours on 110 degrees.

Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce: Version 1
2 cups sun dried tomatoes
1 tomato
1 red pepper
¼ onion
2 cloves garlic (fyi, I use 1 clove)
1tbs olive oil
3 oz. oregano
3 tbs chopped thyme
3 tbs rosemary
Bunch of basil
Sea salt pinch

Combine in food processor and spread on top of pizza.

Marinara Sauce: Version 2
2 ½ cups tomatoes
¼ cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic (fyi, I use 1 clove)
1/8 tsp cayenne
12 sun dried tomatoes, soaked
2 tbs parsley
3 dates, pitted

Combine in food processor and spread on top of pizza.

Raw Pizza Cheese

1cup sunflower seeds, soaked 4 hours
4 yellow zucchini, chopped
1 cup lemon juice
3 small cloves garlic ( fyi, yes I use less!)
½ cup nutritional yeast
½ cup water (preferably  alkaline )

Combine all ingredients in a processor or blender until smooth

Spread on top of crust and sauce (optional, sometimes toppings are all I use)

Toppings
cucumbers
olives
avocado
sprouts
veggie strips

Whatever you can think of is perfect.

Personally, my favorite is pizza topped with avocado, olives and sprouts.I like to plate mine with salad,  dressing   and sprouts.

Once I added olives, this was just too good to miss.

Please share your ideas with us.

To your health,
Elaine
