Pomo Pizzeria Napolentana

Most people have very strong opinions about pizza. Some insist on thin crispy crusts, while others rave about the thick Chicago style and others swear by the California style layered with unconventional goodies! But your true Italians will tell you that the Neopolitan is the true authentic pizza. It has the thin tender crust made from 00-grade flour, San Marzano tomatoes and creamy buffalo mozzarella cheese. The pizza must be baked in a wood fire oven that boasts 900+ degrees which can bake the pizza in less than 2 minutes. Well, Pomo restaurant in Scottsdale fits that criteria and we ate here last week!

We always take the option of eating outside, which is usually possible unless it is raining. (this is desert, so it seldom rains) Most restaurants have outdoor heaters which keeps you very comfortable. Pomo has built the ambiance which makes one almost feel like they are eating in a quaint European cafe. After we ordered, I went inside where you can view their open kitchen and watched the chef prepare my pizza…

I ordered the Parma pizza which is Tomatoes San Marzano, Mozzarella Fior di Latte, Prosciutto Crudo Parma,  Fresh Arugula, Shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.

This scrumptious pizza featured a perfectly blistered tender outer crust which we love! The salty prosciutto was paired wonderfully with the sweet San Marzano tomato sauce, topped with peppery arugula and shaved Parmesan cheese.

We could not resist an authentic Tiramisu for a dessert!
