When your child has a cold they are usually slower, more lethargic. Play dough is a calm activity to occupy them with. Homemade play dough designed to help cure a cold is infused with the right essential oils and can help the kids recover faster.

Play Dough For When Your Child Has a Cold

You need:

I pbatch of White Play Dough

Optional oils:

Eucalyptus essential oil

Pine essential oil

Thyme essential oil

Oregano essential oil

Mix any combination of the above oils into your cooled play dough. I like using all of them. I put about 7 drops each of eucalyptus and pine, 5 drops of thyme and a couple of drops of oregano ( be careful with this one as its smell may be overpowering.) While combining the oils, make sure you like how your play dough smells: it is still a fun project, not a medicine.

Here’s how these essential oils help colds:

Eucalyptus oil opens up the breathing passages and helps with coughs.

Pine oil increases immunity and kills viruses.  It is very helpful in curing respiratory issues.

Thyme oil kills viruses. It has demonstrated protective properties for liver, kidneys and the heart due to its very high antioxidant properties.

Oregano oil is one of the most potent antiviral oils available. It also kills parasites, funghi and candida.
