Overlooked Omegas: New Ways to Enjoy Dishes Rich with Omega 3s
Posted Oct 12 2011 10:03am
Wednesday, March 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Birmingham Community House
We’ve heard that wild salmon and grass-fed beef are excellent sources of heart- and brain-friendly omega 3 fats, but did you know that herbs and seeds are rich sources, too? Mint, basil, flax seeds, and chia seeds are all great omega 3 options. In this class, we’ll maximize these herbs and seeds by making a Minted Quinoa Toss, Basil & Peach Breakfast Parfaits, Hearty Pilaf with Brown Rice & Flax, and Citrusy Avocado-Coconut Custard with Chia. We’ll also talk about why omega 3s are so important, why omega 6s can be a problem, and how we create a healthy nutritional give-and-take.
Please call the Birmingham Community House at (248) 644-5832 to register for this class. Class fee is $30.
