No treadmill. No problem.

I used to have this habit where I would get really enthusiastic to join the gym, then pay for, like, 2 years worth of gym membership, and then never go. I'd have all the right intentions, but "things" would just come up. Then, when my membership expired, and I was many dollars poorer, I would just not work out. Then, I'd join the gym again. Year after year, so much money wasted...
So then one day I decided I would a) stop wasting money, and b) actually work out sans gym.
Oh, yea, and I hate running. So how was I to get my cardio in when I didn't have any sort of machines, and I couldn't stand the idea of running unless it was toward something or away from something? I started jump-roping. See below for some more ideas if you are like me and need some fresh new ways to get that heart rate up!
1) As above, jump-roping. Jump ropes are super cheap and are a great work out! Feeling old-school? Get a few friends and play some double dutch!
2) Jumping jacks.
3) Take regular brisks walks in the park. Have your friends join so you have some accountability and don't get bored.
4) Skip. Seriously.
5) Act as a 3 year old and dance like a crazy person! My little nephew plays music from some of his toys and even choreographs little sequences. It's waaaay cute. And he always makes me join. Can't find any dance music? Ummmmm..it's called the 90's!!! Here are some of my favorite dance/workout tunes- Whenever, Wherever by Shakira
