Nestle Kande Ki Subzi ( Onion Subzi - Rajasthani Cuisine )

Nestle Kande Ki Subzi

Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Serves: 4


NESTLÉ Fresh ‘n’ Natural Dahi - ½ cup (75 g)

Oil - 3 tablespoon

Cumin seeds - ½ teaspoon

Garlic, paste - 1 teaspoon

Ginger, paste - 1 teaspoon

Water - ½ cup (75 ml)

Red chilli powder - ½ teaspoon

Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon

Salt - To taste

Onions - ½ kg, cut into big pieces


Heat the oil in a karahi. Sauté the cumin seeds for a few seconds.

Add the ginger and garlic paste and fry till well browned.

Mix the dry spices in ¼ cup water and dahi. Add this into the karahi and fry well.

When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, add the onions and stir well.

Add the remaining ¼ cup of water and cook on a low flame till the onions are tender but do not lose shape.

Serve hot with bajre ki roti or missi roti.


For a complete Rajasthani meal, serve Kande Ki subzi with Lahsun Ki Chutney, Lal Maas and Safed Maas.
