Most Romantic Hotels in the US…

Posted Feb 09 2012 7:25am

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday!  We are one more day closer to the glorious weekend!  I cannot wait to just relax and celebrate Valentine’s Day this weekend.  We are going to celebrate on Saturday since I am getting my hair and makeup trial done but I also want to make something special for dinner on Tuesday.  That is going to be difficult to do since I still am having trouble determining which foods are good or bad for my stomach.  Last year, I made a really great dinner for Valentine’s Day that I will recap again on Valentine’s Day.  I’m sure I will think of something.  At least I still have a couple of days to decide.

So what about that snow yesterday?  Hah, it was only a little dusting but it was annoying to drive in.  It was worse than rain.  It isn’t at all bad where I live but I almost fell walking into work this morning from all of the black ice!  Eeek!  That is all I would have needed seriously.  Melissa and I ventured out into the snow yesterday after work.  We had some errands to run together.  I had a lot of fun with her while we were hanging out.  Oliver was in a very cuddly affectionate mood yesterday too.  I forgot to take a picture of him.  His birthday will be a month away tomorrow!  I cannot believe he is going to be 10 years old!  He certainly doesn’t act like it!

Once I got home, I wasn’t feeling too hot.  My stomach had been bothering me the entire day.  I wasn’t sure what to eat for dinner but Mike suggested our pizza leftovers from the night before.  So I said alright.  Since I already posted a picture yesterday, I decided not to bore you with the same thing this time.  I cut up two russet potatoes and made my own baked fries.  They were tasty.  I still didn’t feel good the rest of the night.  I’m hoping the new medicine will kick in soon.  I’m getting even more frustrated!

Moving on, so I noticed an interesting piece this morning that Trip Advisor released.  I love Trip Advisor.  If you haven’t been on this site, you are missing out!  You will find tons and tons of reviews of hotels, and restaurants.  It gives you great information if you are traveling.  I highly recommend the site.

I saw a piece that they did on the Top 10 Most Romantic Hotels in the United States .  They also did a list of the Top 10 Most Romantic Hotels in the World and in Europe.  I wanted to strictly focus on the most romantic in the US, especially since Valentine’s Day is coming around the corner.  This list was quite interesting to me.  One of the hotels is actual in PA and I have heard of it.  I have heard not so good things about it so I was quite surprised when I saw it made the list!  I’m really interested to see if any of you have ever been to these hotels.

1.) Koa Kea Hotel & Resort  at  Poipu Beach in Kauai, Hawaii.  This hotel looks absolutely stunning!  It is an upscale 121-room boutique oceanfront hotel.

2.) Starfish Manor Oceanfront Hotel  in Lincoln City, Oregon.  This is a boutique hotel with just 17 luxorious oceanfront suites.

3.) The Inn of the Dove in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.  Their rooms are in a cottage like setting.  They also offer themed and honeymoon rooms.

4.) Spindrift Inn in Monterey, California.  It is a boutique, 45-room hotel on the shores of the Monterey bay.

5.) St. Regis Princeville Resort in Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii.  This is the St. Regis’ first hotel in Hawaii.  This hotel is on the northern shore of the “Garden Island.”  It is a 9,000 acre resort.

6.) Ocean Lodge in Saint Simons Island, Georgia.  This hotel was also voted one of the Top 25 in the nation as well as number one in Georgia.  It is a boutique hotel with a rooftop restaurant.  This hotel looks like a castle!  It is stunning!

7.) Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Little Torch Key, Florida.  This is remote island hotel and they offer dining plans because of the location.  It looks very romantic!

8.) Queen of Hearts Resort in Palm Springs, California.

9.) Farmhouse Inn & Restaurant in Forestville, California.  This is a Sonoma-wine country inn.

10.) Castle Inn in Newport, Rhode Island.  Is is an oceanfront resort.  I have been to Newport, Rhode Island and it is breathtakingly beautiful!  It is a really great place to visit.

Have you ever been to any of these hotels?  Which one would you most like to travel to?  What is the most romantic hotel that you have been to?  I think the hotels in Hawaii look absolutely stunning!  I would love nothing more than to travel there one day.  I think the resort in Florida, Georgia and Rhode Island also look beautiful.  I wouldn’t mind going to those either!  It would be hard to pick.  One can dream.  ;)

Have a great Thursday!
