Mexican Black Bean Pizza

Today is a special day. My daughter learned how to crawl for the first time. Well maybe the second time but who cares just another reason to celebrate and make pizza! This pizza recipe is pretty nutritious. I'm not gonna lie because I did sprinkle goat cheese on top of the mozzarella on the one that's pictured and I really regret adding it. Its the combination of black bean sauce and that type of strong cheese not going together all that well, so I would just stick with mozzarella as I usually do. In my opinion if you like thin whole wheat crusts this is the best recipe for it. Ive made pizza crust many times and have come down to this crust. Its basically a combination of the best ingredients from all the thin whole wheat pizza crusts Ive ever made. I put mozzarella, chopped red peppers, corn, black olives and I sauteed red onions for a sweeter taste. I usually put pineapples and tomatoes on it too and sliced sausages for my husband.

Things You Need: Black Bean Pizza Sauce
1 cup of cooked black beans
3 Tbsp salsa
1/2 Tsp cumin
1 Tsp Italian seasoning
1 Tbsp chopped cilantro
2 cloves garlic 
Pinch of cayenne pepper 

Put all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. About  1 full minute scraping the sides of the bowl.

Things You Need: Pizza Crust (12inch)
1 package of dry active yeast (1/4 oz)
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp Olive oil
1/2 Tsp sea salt

1. In a large bowl combine whole wheat flour, all purpose flour and wheat germ
2. In a medium bowl add warm water and yeast. Stir until dissolved and creamy then add honey, salt and oil.
2. Add liquids to the flour mixture and need for 2-3 minutes.
3. Roll dough into a ball and place in a oiled bowl and coat outside of dough lightly with oil.
4. Cover bowl and place in a warm area until it has doubled in size or for about 30 minutes.
5. Press dough into a 12 inch pizza pan
