Menu Plan Monday: The Frustrated with Food Edition
Posted Sep 04 2011 8:36pm
It’s once again time for Menu Plan Monday! Just to be perfectly frank, honest and open with you, there are times when food just frustrates me. Or specifically, trying to meet the dietary needs of each member of my family without going over budget or going insane. Some times when planning the menu I can tell you I border on the insane!
Of course, I know there are others with much greater problems than mine, and remembering that helps me keep my little issues in perspective. After all, we can all eat chicken, and we can all eat bacon. And I can build a menu around that!
Breakfasts
Oatmeal
Granola
Muffins
Overnight Steel Cut Oatmeal
Pancakes
Lunches
Leftovers
Freezer Stash of Non-Allergenic Foods (for Certain Little Someone)
This is not just a menu plan, as wonderfulas that in itself is. Oh, no. Some more features for the curious among you…
This Week’s New Recipe
I try to incorporate one new recipe a week into my menu. This isn’t really difficult for me since I rarely make the same thing twice.
The Chicken & Veggie Skewers will be my new recipe for the week. I’m excited to try out this grilling technique together with my sister at our Labor Day picnic!
Baby Food
Repeats: plums, green beans, chicken
New: hmmm I’ll have to think about that some more!
In My Kitchen Today
On Mondays, I spend some extra time in the kitchen, cooking ahead and making baked goods to last for the week and beyond. A large portion of the day is often dedicated to allergen-free foods for my Certain Little Someone.
Not much going on in the kitchen this week because of Labor Day!
What’s on your menu this week? Any new recipes you are trying?
