Saturday, April 27th from noon to 4 p.m. at the Authentic Living Center in Troy
It all comes together during this four-hour workshop! In one fun afternoon, you’ll find out how you can improve your health one plate at a time, from choosing what’s best at the grocery store to discovering quick and tasty ways to transform nutritious ingredients into delicious (and inexpensive) meals. During this “boot-camp” culinary Saturday, you’ll enjoy:
An interactive talk centered on simple ways to upgrade our everday food choices and therefore our everyday health (1st hour of class)
A cooking class featuring easy-to-make dishes and baked goods that highlight whole grains, plenty of produce, high-quality meats and animal products, healthy fats, and natural sweeteners (2nd & 3rd hours of class)
A guided grocery shopping trip to explore upgraded food options in every aisle (4th hour of class)
With a class maximum of 30, you’ll have lots of chances to ask questions, participate in the cooking activities, and meet other people interested in eating better and improving their health. The talk and cooking class will be held at the Authentic Living Center in the demo kitchen; for the shopping trip, we’ll walk one block over to Whole Foods to browse through the aisles. Wear comfortable walking shoes! And please bring a curious mind and a friendly smile, too. You might also want to take a few notes — by the time we wrap up our workshop, you’ll have a lot of thought for food!
Fee: $75 per person or $125 per couple. Registration fee payable by credit card (an invoice will be sent to you via PayPal) or by personal check. Payment is due one week before class date.
