Okay, let's be honest... Your child isn't going to willingly drink a green smoothie. It looks absolutely disgusting. If you think you may have a problem feeding something to your kid, give it a cool name. Instead of a green smoothie, try a SHREK SHAKE!
Green smoothies have been given a bad reputation because they taste (for a lack of a better word) green. It doesn't have to. If you use the right greens, it won't add a strong flavor to the smoothie.
Start with a leaf of a green of your choice and gradually increase when they get used to it. Some greens I recommend to start with are
1 c. romaine lettuce
2 Tbsp. carob powder
3 bananas, peeled
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. vanilla kefir
1 c. ice
1. Place everything but ice into a blender. Blend until thoroughly combined.
2. Add ice as needed while blending until desired consistency is achieved.
