I love  hearty spicy lentil soup and so does my whole family. Even the 2 year olds don’t mind the spice! I had a pile of tomatoes about to go bad the other day, so I added them to my usual lentil soup. Their acidity only made the already great soup better! I also liked the fact that my four year old who normally hates tomatoes, loved the soup. “You put different tomatoes in there, right, mama, not the ones from the salad?”  A-huh. This soup becomes heavenly when paired with my easy whole grain bread .
