Im from New Zealand and its not the norm to do it here. A lady from work had to drive to another town to get her boy done and she is the only person I know in my life that has chosen it and it was because her husband was done and didn't want him to worry he didn't look like daddy, which I found odd as in the changing rooms as school he is very much going to be the odd one out and that potentially could be worse for him, other than that I have one friend who had it done for medical reason as a child and one for religious reasons. Each to their own I think but my boy was born with it so I didn't see a reason for us personally to cut it off. Oh and on your breastmilk comment we have quite a strong group running in facebook where mother's share and give breastmilk - especially through out the neonatal units where prem babies mothers milk hasn't come in yet :-) totally parent run as probably has its own risks to be aware of but still nice to see
