Going to a party

Being on a diet doesn't mean your social life has to come to a standstill. You can still have a wonderful time at parties, without pigging out! Here are some ways to help you stay on top of your diet. Nurse a low-calorie drink instead of snacking on chips, nuts and cheese .
Avoid beverages that contain caffeine - it's an appetite stimulant

Avoid alcohol - it is high in calories,

Politely refuse food you don't want - simply smile and say, "No thanks. I'm fine", keep saying it as often as needed and without elaboration, embarrassment or apology .

Hosting a party

If you're hosting a party, here are some things you can do to help your guests stay with their diets. Provide low-calorie snacks and foods, and non-alcoholic drinks .

Never force food or drinks on people who say no.
