I promise to be back shortly (very shortly) with a recap of my wonderful holiday week, including details on how I spent my Christmas and all the fun things I did in between.
However, I have been taking full advantage of this week off to soak up all the time I possibly can to be with my friends and family. I hope you all don’t mind the little break I took from blogging, because it really allowed me to make the most of my vacation time, for which I am eternally grateful.
And although I know I owe you a full recap of the holiday season, for now I’d like to talk about 2012 as a whole.
For me it was a fantastic year; one where I learned a lot about myself and who I want to be in the future.
Firstly, I learned what it’s like to have a full time job and not have any more long summer vacations to look forward to (although I technically started learning this lesson in 2011). Being employed full time is quite a switch from living the college life, and it took me a while to fully accept and adjust to this schedule. In 2012 I really became comfortable and happy with my job, for which I know I am lucky. I have so many friends who hate their jobs and I’m so happy to be doing something I love every day.
I also learned what it’s like to live with my best friend/boyfriend and to always have someone who means so much to me by my side. I am so lucky to have the relationship that I do with Fabio and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This year brought me closer to Fabio than ever before and I will never take that for granted (this includes Jack too, since last year around this time we had just rescued him from the shelter. He’s an integral part of our family!!)
Lastly, I really learned how to balance a healthy lifestyle. If you couldn’t tell by this whole entire blog, being healthy and still enjoying myself is a huge priority for me. It’s something I’ve struggled with in the past and I’m really happy that I’ve learned enough along the way to know how to manage my weight and my health without giving up the things that I love. On that note, I also hope that I’ve learned how to inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle and, if your in-person encouragement means anything, it does seem that I am making a difference, no matter how small.
Anyway, I just wanted to take this time to appreciate all that I learned in 2012 and to give thanks to all of you for helping me along the way.
Stay tuned for some goals for 2013 and have a very happy new year!!!!
