This is the time of year for graduation celebrations! I don’t know about your area of the country, but the red carpet is rolled out for most graduates here in the Heartland. Parents start planning for this event months in advance, usually cramming in some home remodel project or redecorating some area of the house. Without divulging our age, I will tell you that when my honey and I graduated, (yes, in the same class and the same year!) we invited our grandparents and maybe a close aunt and uncle or two for ice-cream and cake. Nowadays, these celebrations have evolved into banquets! I am not complaining though because on graduation weekend in our area, if you time your attendance right for all the open houses you get invited to, you won’t have to cook all weekend!
We are especially grateful for two amazing graduates in our family this year…
