You know that probiotics are good for you. They might even be more useful in maintaining good health than antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals; or at least they rank right up there. Unfortunately, most people don’t have nearly enough probiotics – good bacteria – in their gut: one statistic I read a while back said that the average American had 20% good and 80% bad bacteria in their intestines. Not good. Very bad. The ratio is, after all, supposed to be the opposite: 80% good and 20% bad. This backwards ratio leads to a lot of disease at worst and discomfort at best, considering that the first line of attack in your immune system is found in the gut. It would behoove us, therefore, to make it a priority to consume a lot more probiotics for improved health. The simplest and easiest way to do that is to eat yogurt. It’s a top priority for me to make sure everyone in my family gets yogurt every day (although I admit it’s not easy for the non-dairy eaters) to help keep that balance in perspective. There are, of course, other ways to increase your consumption of probiotics, but alot of them are complicated, and frankly, don’t appeal to me very much in terms of taste. Yogurt, however, is delicious, and can be consumed in so many different ways! I’m actually a huge fan of yogurt. It is, after all, Quick, Easy, Cheap and Healthy!

Even if you make it yourself, and have to wait at least 12 hours for the yogurt to culture, the active time involved is minimal, so I still consider it QUICK. Opening a container of yogurt (I won’t judge) is even QUICKer.

Nothing can be EASY-er than yogurt, either. Use a machine to make it yourself, or buy it pre-made. Whatever the case, it’s as simple as pie.

Yogurt is relatively CHEAP, whether you make it yourself or buy it. Many brands go on sale regularly and have coupons available, so you can get it for pretty cheap by the individual cup or by the tub.

As I’ve already discussed, the HEALTHY benefits of yogurt are immense and incredibly beneficial.

If you haven’t already developed the habit of including yogurt in your daily diet, now’s the time! Dannon Activia is offering a FREE coupon for their new Activia Selects line, featuring flavors inspired by French and Greek yogurt.
