Garlic Kissed Carrot Juice

Posted Oct 08 2008 6:29pm

This drink recipe, which I have modified, is from my ebook Raw Epicurean Beverages - 101 Fresh Organic Recipes.

A simple glass of fresh carrot juice is a nutritious drink on its own, but when you add the benefits of fresh garlic, turmeric powder, and top it off with some fresh squeezed lemon juice, it converts into a healing powerhouse in a glass.

This drink is exceptionally high in vitamin A, minerals, and other nutrients. The fresh-juiced garlic with all its benefits adds a surprisingly nice light flavor, and it is not overpowering. Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and purifying properties, and the extra dose of vitamin C from the lemon juice bring to this drink more bonuses.

The goldmine of nutrients and antioxidants within this juice make it well worth including in your diet, and it is also a delicious way to help prevent and battle a cold.

Experiment with the amount of garlic to suit your taste. Start with one clove and go from there. Personally, I love the flavor of garlic and use two cloves; I find the flavor to be just right.

2 – 4 large carrots, washed well
1 - 2 garlic cloves, skin removed
2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Push the carrots and garlic clove(s) through a juicer. Add the lemon and turmeric and stir.

Serve immediately or chill the drink in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
