Fun Finds Friday: My July Favorites!!..

Posted Jul 19 2013 7:03am

Hi there!  Happy Friday to you!  I apologize for not posting yesterday.  I really didn’t have anything to share and I didn’t want to write a useless post.  I might be doing that more often.  If I find that I don’t have anything to write about, I might just skip that day.  Maybe I will update a day on the weekend instead to trade off.  I haven’t decided yet.

When I left off I mentioned that I had two full days of meetings at work.  They actually went pretty well and I learned so much.  I’m actually glad that I started when I did because they are building a foundation for me and I think it will make things so much easier and much more rewarding once I get deep into planning events.  I also got the chance to know people from my department more intimately and I think that definitely helps when you are in the office working together.

I had dinner at one of my co-workers homes after work on Wednesday.  I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous as hell.  It actually went really well.  Her house was stunning and her kitchen was a cook’s kitchen.  I couldn’t stop picturing what it would be like to have a kitchen like that one day.  The food was fantastic that she served and she even sent Mike and I home with some tiramisu for dessert.  He was quite happy that I was coming home bringing desserts.

Today will be two weeks that I have been there and I think I really made the right decision not only for myself but for Mike and I and our future family.  I really think that I needed to make a change.  As scary as it may have been, I think it is all going to work out in the end and I find myself much happier and not dreading going to work which is I think an ultimate goal of everyone’s.  Check in with me in a few weeks when I really start getting deep into planning and I might say something different but for now I am happy with my decision!

So that is a little recap of what has been going on in my life.  Today, as you know, is Fun Finds Friday.  I wanted to feature some items that have recently become my favorite items of the month of July.  I haven’t done this in a while and I thought it would be fun to share some things that I have been enjoying this month.  Let’s get started!

Trader Joe’s Organic Ketchup

I have been using Trader Joe’s Organic Ketchup for the past few months.  I bought two bottles of it in the store and I have to say that I really like it.  It has a different flavor than regular ketchup and I know that Mike doesn’t like it.  I was trying to eliminate high-fructose corn syrup from our home as much as I could because I don’t know if that contributes to health issues.  I’m thinking it does.  You really need to get used to the taste of this ketchup because it is different.  It’s not bad different, it’s just sweeter.  I guess it’s a personal preference if you like it or not.  It’s worth a try.

Turkey Hill Diet Decaffeinated Lemon Tea

I actually contacted Turkey Hill to comment on a container of frozen yogurt that I bought because I liked it so much and they sent me a TON of coupons in the mail!  Good tip, if you are a Turkey Hill fan!  They send you lots of coupons.  For the past few weeks, this iced tea has been on sale at ShopRite and I’ve had coupons so we actually got two containers for free!  We both really like it.  I’m a huge fan of iced tea and I usually order it when I’m out so I like the fact that it tastes really good and I can enjoy it at home.

Dawn Hand Renewal with Olay Dish Detergent in Pomegranate Splash

I have loved this dish soap for a long time now!  I can’t get over the smell.  It smells amazing and it really does make your hands soft.  I prefer to use this dish soap whenever I can find it on sale with a coupon.  It’s sometimes rare that it goes on sale but when it does, you bet I purchase it.  I love it!

Tresemme Smooth & Silky Shampoo

A couple of weeks ago, I had a coupon for Tresemme Shampoo and it was on sale so I ended up getting a bottle of shampoo for virtually nothing!  I usually stick to Herbal Essences because I find it leaves my hair smooth and sometimes frizz free.  I tried this one the other day and I love it!  I’m hooked!  It made my hair smooth, silky and easy to blow-dry and flat iron!  Not to mention, it smells amazing!  I have definitely found a new shampoo!  My hair is really hard to manage so I can use all the help I can get and this shampoo definitely seems to be helping especially in this heat and humidity!

Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Ice Cream Banana Split

Sweet Freedom® Ice Cream Banana Split

This is one of my new favorite ice creams to enjoy!  I got it for free using coupons and sales and I cannot get enough of it.  It’s vanilla flavored no sugar added light ice cream swirled with strawberry-banana and chocolate ribbons, diced pineapple, cherries and mixed nuts.  It’s really good and makes for a great snack! You can actually see and taste the pineapple, cherries and mixed nuts!  It’s wonderful especially in this heat!

Covergirl Cheekers Blush

Cheekers Blush

I enjoy using various brands of makeup.  I do like MAC but lately it’s been a little too expensive for me to purchase.  I was using MAC blush but I just couldn’t afford to buy it anymore.  So I searched in Ulta one day with Melissa and we found this Covergirl blush that looked very similar to the one that I wear.  I tried it the other day and I really liked it!  It gave me nice color on my cheeks and lasted the entire day.  The best part is that it is MUCH cheaper than MAC and you can use coupons on it!  I love it.

So there you have some of my favorites of July!  Do you like any of the same products as me?  Anything that I should try in some of these same categories?

Have a great Friday!  Stay cool!
