Fun Finds Friday: Breakfast!!…

Posted Jan 25 2013 7:08am

Hi there!  Happy Friday!!  It’s finally Friday!  Yay!  We are supposed to get snow here today.  I thought it was going to be a lot more than they say.  Unfortunately, we are only supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow.  I think it’s supposed to start between 2-4pm.  That kind of stinks for me because I leave work right smack in the middle of those times.  I hope it won’t be too bad driving.  I don’t think it will be.  I was hoping we would get a big blizzard.  I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that at some point this winter, I will get my blizzard.

What are you doing this weekend?  I don’t have very big plans for this weekend. I have to bring my car in for service tomorrow so I’m hoping everything will be alright with it.  I’m planning on relaxing this weekend and catching up on some magazine reading and dvr watching.  I think the temperature is supposed to go up to at least 40 so I am looking forward to that.  These 12 and 13 degree days are a bit much for me to handle.  I like the cold but just not this cold.  It’s a little too extreme for my liking.

Anyway, today is one of my favorite days on the blog because I get to talk about random fun products that I have found for all of you to enjoy.  Remember, just because I talk about a product doesn’t necessarily mean I have a tried it.  I will comment on anything that I feature that I have tried.  So without further adieu, let’s talk breakfast!

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends – Mango Coconut

This cereal contains four nutritious grains: rice, wheat, oats and corn, is heart healthy (0g trans fat, 0g saturated fat, 0mg cholesterol per serving), 10g of whole grain per serving, and has 9 essential vitamins and minerals.  I think this cereal sounds interesting.  I don’t know how I feel about the mango coconut flavor but I’d be willing to try it only if it’s on sale.

Special K Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches

Special K has introduced three Flatbread Breakfast Sandwiches:

  • Sausage, Egg & Cheese
  • Ham, Egg & Pepper Jack Cheese
  • Egg with Vegetables & Pepper Jack Cheese

All three of these sandwiches contain 240 or fewer calories per sandwich.  These sandwiches are perfect to eat for breakfast if you are in a rush or need something to bring with you to work.  You can just pop these in the microwave and you are good to go!  Since I don’t eat sausage or ham, the only one that I would want to try is one with vegetables.  I think it sounds and looks great!  I’ve been waiting for these to go on sale but they have been pretty pricy.  It might be worth though if you typically buy breakfast everyday.  Buying this sandwich would save you in the long run.

Special K Red Berry Waffles

These waffles are so new, Special K doesn’t even have them on their website yet!  I just happened to see these in the supermarket the other day when I was browsing the frozen breakfast aisle.  I think these waffles sound delicious!  I like that they contain red berries and they are from Special K.  I have to say Special K is really stepping up their game lately in the breakfast department.  They have new cereal, sandwiches and waffles out for breakfast.  I’m liking it!  I definitely want to try these!

iHOP at Home Breakfast Sandwiches

iHop at home has come out with new breakfast sandwiches!  They come in:

  • Flatbread Sandwich with applewood bacon, egg and cheese.
  • French Toast Sandwich with egg, Canadian bacon, and cheese.
  • French Toast Sandwich with maple sausage egg and cheese.

I think these sandwiches all sound good!  I find a french toast sandwich so unique!  I’d really be curious to see what it tastes like.  I am not a fan of breakfast meat though so if I did try it, I would have to remove the meat.  It looks good to me otherwise!

iHop at Home Hearty Breakfast Bowl

This Breakfast bowl is bite-sized pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and cheddar cheese in an individual bowl to eat for breakfast.  As you can see, it says on the box that it contains 20 grams of protein.  That is a lot.  I think this looks rather interesting and I’d be curious to hear what it tastes like.  It’s something unique and different for breakfast.

Jimmy Dean Quesadilla Delights

This is a new Quesadilla for breakfast from Jimmy Dean.  It’s a turkey sausage quesadilla and contains 25o calories and 15g of protein.  Each package contains two quesadillas.  I think these look delicious!  I love the fact that it is made with turkey sausage.  I would definitely be more tempted to try it.  I think it would be perfect to bring to work for breakfast.

Bob Evans On The Go Breakfast Bake

These are new On  The Go Breakfast Bakes from Bob Evans.  They are all under 160 calories and they can be made in the microwave.  They come in:

  • Southwest – green and red bell peppers, egg, and cheese mixed inside baked hashbrowns.
  • Susage, Egg, Cheese & Hashbrowns
  • Bacon, Egg, Cheese & Hashbrowns

I think these are unique!  I definitely would like to try one!  I love hashbrowns so the fact that eggs and cheese are inside of a hashbrown sounds delicious to me!  I hope to find these in the store soon!

So there you have it!  Some new breakfast items that I have found for this week.  Have you tried any of these?  Any of these that you would like to try?

If you have any new items that you would like me to feature on Friday’s posts, please don’t hesitate to comment or write me an email!  I’m open to all suggestions and it doesn’t just have to be food either.  The ideas are endless!

Have a great Friday!
