Fun Finds Friday!!…

Posted Dec 28 2012 6:59am

Hi there!  Happy Friday to you!!!  It’s finally Friday!  Woohoo!  I’m so happy.  I couldn’t be happier for the weekend.  I just need time to relax and I’m looking forward to doing so this weekend.  What are you doing this weekend?  What are you doing for New Years Eve?  As you know, New Years Eve is on Monday.  I have never been a huge fan of New Years.  I don’t know why.  I just never really got into it all that much.  Sure, I like to have a glass of champagne to celebrate but I never really did all that much for New Years.  Mike and I are still debating having some people over for New Years.  I think would be easier than going to a crowded bar and spending a lot of money on a drink that I don’t really like or want.  So I’d rather host something at our house just for a few people.  I personally love watching all of the New Years Eve shows on tv.  I love watching the countdown to midnight and the ball drop.  I feel like I have to watch it for some reason.  So I’m hoping that I will be able to do so.  Other than, that I don’t really have much planned.  I have get blood work done tomorrow morning and we are supposed to be getting 2-4 inches of snow!  I hope it happens after I get home!

Last night, we decided to have Mexican for dinner.  In dealing with all of my stomach issues which by the way are still unresolved.  More about that another time though.  I haven’t had Mexican in such a long time. It is my favorite type of food by far.  I used to eat it all the time.  I decided to take some ground chicken and season it with taco seasoning and put some cheese on it in a tortilla.

I have to say that the only part of dinner that I enjoyed were my roasted vegetables.  I am not a fan of ground chicken.  The only reason I bought it was because it was cheaper than ground turkey.  I am only going to buy ground turkey from now on.  It was extremely dry and I just didn’t like it all.  The taco seasoning didn’t do much for the flavoring.  Last night was the one time that I missed eating ground beef.  I didn’t really think too much about it though and moved on.  We will most definitely be buying ground turkey from here on out.  Luckily, it’s on a sale at Aldi this week.  So I think I’ll be stocking up!

The other day, Melissa and I got talking about a new segment to feature on my blog.  Since Wedding Talk Wednesday is long gone, we were thinking that I should do another fun segment to look forward to each week.  This segment is going to include Melissa.  She might be doing some guest posts and she will be helping me put together this feature.  The feature is going to be Fun Finds Friday!  Each Friday, I will post some new product finds that we have found that week.  It can be food related, beauty related, television related, etc.  It can be anything!  It can be very interactive too!  If you find something fun that you’d like for me to feature on Friday, don’t hesitate to send me an email with details and I’ll post about it and give you credit!  I think it will be fun!

So let’s get started with our first Fun Finds Friday!  The first find is from Turkey Hill .  Turkey Hill is a dairy that is actually located in Lancaster County in PA.  If you remember, I went to the Turkey Hill Experience a couple of years ago.  Anyway, Melissa found this new product in the supermarket and we thought you should check it out!

Greek Frozen Yogurt!

Greek Frozen Yogurt!

Turkey Hill has come out with a Limited Edition of Greek Frozen Yogurt in Baklava !  It is Vanilla Greek frozen yogurt with crunchy Baklava pieces and a honey cinnamon swirl!  I’ve never had Baklava before but I’ve always wanted to try it.  I also had no idea that Turkey Hill made Greek Frozen Yogurt!  I think that is super cool!  So definitely keep your eyes on the shelf for this one because it’s only for a limited time!

The next product find that Melissa saw was:

Silk Iced Latte!

Silk Iced Latte!

This is a new product from Silk !  It is their new Iced Latte!  I don’t know about you but I was super excited when I saw that Silk came out with an Iced Latte.  Several companies have come out with their own coffee drinks.  I have been unable to drink them due to my lactose intolerance.  When I saw that this came out, I will now be able to enjoy an iced coffee drink like everyone else!  I am so excited about this!  This product is so new, I couldn’t even find it on their website.  So be sure to keep your eye out for this one!  If you pair it when it’s on sale with a coupon, you could score a great deal!

Those products are what Melissa found in stores.  Here are some that I have spotted.

Dole Banana Dippers!  These are dark chocolate covered banana slices that you find in the freezer section of your store!  Each tray is 100 calories and there are 8 individual trays.  I thought this was a pretty neat concept!  Who doesn’t love chocolate dipped fruit?  Sure, you can do this at home and it would probably be way cheaper than buying it but when you can buy it already done for you, it is convenience.  Keep your eye for coupons.  Since this is a new product, I’m sure there will be coupons put out for it and you could get a great deal!

I have always been a big fan of Chobani yogurts.  I haven’t seen these in stores yet but I have heard that they are bringing out two new flavors of their greek yogurt!  I’m super excited about these two flavors because they are my favorite fruits!

Chobani Pear & Banana!

I am counting down the days until I spot this in stores!  I love Chobani yogurts.  They are my favorite and Mike eats them all the time.  So I am over the moon that they are coming out with pear and banana!  I bet they will taste amazing!

I have also seen pictures of another product from Chobani called Bite!

These are a blend of Greek non-fat and low-fat yogurt, comes in four flavors: Fig with orange zest, Caramel with pineapple, Coffee with dark chocolate chips, and Raspberry with dark chocolate chips.  I believe they will be coming in a 4-pack in the supermarkets.  I am beyond the moon excited to try these!!!  The coffee with dark chocolate chips is calling my name!  It sounds amazing!  I cannot wait until I spot these in stores!

So that is all I have for this first edition of Fun Finds Friday!  I hope you enjoyed this new segment and will follow along each week.  Have you heard of any of these new products?  Would you want to try any of them?

Have a great Friday!!  Hopefully I will check in sometime this weekend!
