Here is a list of foods that you need to include in your diet to help increase your immunity level.
Protein rich foods: Legumes, pulses, nuts, fish,egg and meat.
Food rich in Vitamin A: Cheese, milk, eggs, egg yolks.
Food rich in Vitamin E: Vegetables oils, nuts, olives and olive oil, avacados, whole grain cereals, wheat germ, milk, eggs, sprouts, soya beans, tomatoes, asperagus and green leafy vegeatables.
Food rich in Vitamin C: Citrous fruit like lime, sweet lime and oranges; guavas, gooseberries, black and red currants, cherries, peaches, apples, strawberries, kiwi fruit, broccoli, cauliflower, beetroot and sprouted gram.
Food rich in beta- carotene: Oranges, yellow, red and green coloured vegetables, and fruits such as carrot, papaya, mango, green leafy vegetables etc.
Take a multi-vitamin- mineral tablet , which improves immune responses.
Take foods like garlic, onion and herbs, which have antiviral and antibacterial properties. Garlic and onion act as ' natural decongestants'. Eat either raw in salad or add to other vegetables during cooking. Garlic reduces the level of cholesterol.
If you have a headache due to your cold, add a few basil leaves, cloves and ginger in your tea.
Ginger is good for digestion.
