Flying Jacob on the Fly

Posted Jun 11 2010 6:26am
I don't know why I hadn't posted this recipe yet because it is one of my favorites. The ingredients sound bizzare to combine in one pan, but trust me, it is delicious. The difference in this from the traditional recipe is that I add onions (since I do think it does work well) and I did it in a jiffy as oppsoed to baking it in the oven. I only did that because I'm the only one eating it. Phillip saw the combination of items and just stepped away. Before you do the same, give it w hirl.

Speedy Flying Jacob

1 small banana

1/2 onion, sliced thin

1 cup thawed quorn

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter

1/2 cup nondairy milk

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp Sesame seed

1 tsp Poppy seed

1 tsp Paprika

1 tsp Celery seed

1 tsp Garlic

1 tbsp imitation soy bacon (McCormicks is gluten free)

salt and pepper to taste

Heat a medium nonstick pan and saute the onions until soft. Add the quorn and lightly brown. Add the remaining ingredients, except for the banana. Stir it all togehter until it becomes nice and thick. Last minute before serving, add the banana.

Serve with brown rice and steamed brussle sprouts. Mmm..
