Hey there! Happy Friday!! Sorry about not managing to get a post up yesterday; sometimes things are just too busy and life (or in my case, a crazy work schedule) gets in the way. It happens! But I am back today and am ready to share my Favorite Things Friday with you.
This has definitely become one of my favorite weekly traditions. I love looking back on my week at all of the fun things that happened, no matter how big or small. Sometimes I will snap a picture during the week and then totally forget about it until Friday rolls around and I start collecting my favorite pictures from the week. Then when I see it again it brings a smile to my face as a remember something nice that happened during the week. I am loving this tradition!
So let’s jump right into it, shall we? Here are my favorite photos from this week!
The landscapers near my job recently replaced the dying pink and purple petunias with these lovely fall flowers. They are so bright and look like balls of yellow velvet, until you get up close and realize they are all tiny yellow daises (er- or some yellow flower haha). I love seeing these flowers every day on my walk to and from work and I think they look so pretty fall. You may remember that I once saw a mother duck sitting on an egg in these flower beds, but she hasn’t been seen in a while. She must have flown the coop (is that a chicken reference? I think so. Oh well, at least it’s poultry-related).
I am not a huge baseball fan, but on Tuesday night I had a great time at the National’s game with a few of my friends. We had a couple beers and had a great night catching up and talking. I can’t say I watched much of the game, but I was fine with that For me I enjoy the experience of going to a game much more than the game itself. It was such a fun way to spend the evening!
Favorite Door Display
Since it’s officially October, I decided to pull my Halloween decorations out of storage! Yay! I don’t have that many decorations, but there’s enough to make my tiny apartment feel a bit more festive. One of my favorite decorations is this “Boo” door hanger with a velvety spider and a glittery web. I bought it last year on sale at TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall’s, or one of those places (can’t remember which! haha). It’s a nice little decoration in our otherwise boring apartment hallway.
Favorite Kitchen Adornment
Another item I pulled out of storage are these cute Halloween hand towels! They are currently residing in the kitchen on the handle of the oven. I totally have seasonal-towel-decoration-syndrome and I have some Christmas and Spring-themed ones too I’m such a nerd haha.
Favorite New Product
So of course I have always heard how awesome VitaTops are but for some reason I have never actually tried them. The horror!! Last time I was at the grocery store I picked some up on a whim and I tried one out earlier this week. It was pretty good!! I wouldn’t say it tasted like a normal chocolate chip muffin obviously and it was pretty small, but they are only 100 calories and have 9g of fiber and 4g of protein. Talk about staying power! My Fooducate app only gives them a C+ (what? come on!) but that’s because they have some added sugar. They do have some sugar free VitaTop flavors, so maybe I’ll try those next time (but let’s be honest- probably not! haha). At any rate, they were delicious and I can’t wait to have them again
Favorite Picture of Jack
Yesterday Fabio and I caught up on some laundry and we happened to have Animal Planet on while we folded clothes. Jack LOVES Animal Planet and will get really close to the TV to watch. In this particular case there were some birds chirping/squawking/flying around, but Jack does not discriminate. He is equally captivated by dogs, cats, lions, cheetahs, alligators, racoons, or whatever other animal might happen to be on TV. Haha!
And that’s it for my Favorite Things Friday! Now I am ready for the weekend. Woohoo!! Tonight I am getting together with a ton of my friends to celebrate my birthday since a lot of them were out of town last week. Some of my friends from home are even coming and I’m so excited to have everyone together! It should be a blast!
So tell me, what are your weekend plans? Anything fun?
