Fall Mosaic For Toddlers and Preschoolers

Mosaic-type work of cutting, tearing and pasting teaches small kids very important skills. It teaches them fine motor skills, scissor skills and how to be neat and get things done. We do a lot of simple mosaic-type work in our homeschool preschool.

This project is simple enough for a 4 year old to do alone. For a pumpkin and candy corn you need orange, yellow and white paper, glue and a green crayon.

Using a crayon, draw the outlines of a pumpkin and a candy corn on a large sheet of white paper. Tear your other papers into small pieces ( kids love doing that.) Smear the glue all over the inside of a pumpkin and the candy corn and attach the little pieces of paper to the glue. For candy corn, maintain the classic layered pattern. Draw some pumpkin leaves and you are done!
