Facial Cleanser

Posted Feb 15 2012 6:01pm

I'm adding a few things to my blog that will be more useful for you outside of the kitchen while using the ingredients from within it.  A new page I've added is beauty secrets and I invite you to check it out.

What I love about making my beauty products is that most of the supplies are on hand, it's WAY cheaper, and it's much better for your skin.  I heard a doctor once say "If you won't eat it, don't put it on your face."

The first post I wanted to share is a facial cleanser I've been using this for months now.  In the past, I've had little problems with acne and this recipe has helped.  Not to mention, I haven't had to use any moisturizer afterwards.  (Bonus: It saves me money on facial lotion too)

Ingredients
1 part olive oil
1 part castor oil

Instructions
Find a cute soap pump to put the cleanser in.  Fill 1/2 way with olive oil and 1/2 way with castor oil. Shake well. Pump a quarter-size drop into your hand.  Rub onto your face well.  Take a hot wash cloth and place over face to steam.  Wipe away for a clean moisturized face.
