Cinnamon walnut teacake

¾ cup self rising flour
60 butter
½ cup castor sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk

For the cinnamon topping :

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup finely chopped walnuts
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup coconut
2 tablespoon plain flour
15 g butter

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.


Grease a deep 17 cm round cake pan; line base with paper; grease paper.

Cream butter and sugar in a small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy , add egg, beat until combined.

Fold in sifted flour and milk.

Spread into prepared pan , sprinkle with cinnamon topping , bake in moderate oven at 190- 200 *C or 375 – 400 * F for about 30 minutes. Stand 5 minutes before turning on to wire rack to cool.
