Chipotle Tuna Samosa Recipe

A delicious recipe from Chef Scott and the Bumble Bee Foods event.


Chipotle Tuna Samosa


  • 2 cans (5 oz. each) Bumble Bee® Prime Fillet® Gourmet Flavors Albacore Tuna with
  • Chipotle and Olive Oil, lightly drained, reserving oil
  • 2 tablespoons grated white onion
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • ½ cup mashed peas
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 box phyllo dough, defrosted


  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2.  Combine tuna, white onion, ginger, mashed peas, sesame seeds and all spices in a mixing bowl. Add salt and pepper to season.
  3.  Mix with a fork and shred the tuna. Set aside. 
  4. Follow the directions for the phyllo dough on the box. Note that phyllo dough can dry quickly, so keep unused phyllo dough covered with a slightly damp towel to prevent drying and cracking. 
  5. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on dry surface and brush with the
  6. reserved tuna oil.
  7.  Repeat this process two additional times for a total of three layers of
  8. dough. 
  9. Cut the dough lengthwise into three equal long strips, then across the center to create six total dough strips. 
  10. Place one tablespoon of the tuna mixture at the far left hand side of one strip. 
  11. Fold to a triangle shape and repeat the fold until you reach the end.
  12. Brush each completed samosa with tuna oil and place on a baking sheet. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used.
  13. Bake for six to eight minutes or until browned and crispy.
