Chinese Style Banana Fritters

2 cup self- rising flour
1/2 teaspoon soda bicarbonate
1 1/2 cups of water
4 bananas
Oil for deep frying
Sift flour and soda bicarbonate into bowl, add water , mix to a smooth batter.
Peel bananas, cut into three. Roll lightly in flour.
Drop banana pieces into batter, drain off excess batter. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Remove, drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with ice cream. Serves 4
