Cascadian Farms!!…

Posted Jan 10 2013 6:48am

Hi there!  Happy Thursday to you!  I have a feeling that today might be a good day.  You may be asking me why I feel that way.  Well every morning while driving into work, I listen to my favorite radio show, The Elvis Duran Show.  Each and every morning they read horoscopes.  Today, my horoscope was just exactly what I needed to hear.  It said all of that hard work that you have been doing will soon pay off.  Just keep pushing towards your goal and you will see results.  That made me extremely happy because I am working really hard to accomplish a lot of things right now.  So I hope, wish and pray that my horoscope was true for today!  That would make me a very happy girl.

A couple of weeks ago,  I was graciously sent a package in the mail from Cascadian Farms to try out two of their new products.  Cascadian Farms is an organic farm that is certified by the USDA.  The farm is located in the foothills of the North Cascades mountain range. The 28-acre farm in western Washington’s Upper Skagit Valley is where their entire line of organic products were brought to life.  They have been around for over 40 years.  At the Cascadian Home Farm, they grow their own crops and protect the local ecosystem using sustainable organic methods.

This was what was inside the box that I received:

In the box, besides the two products I were sent to try out was an issue of Bon Appetit magazine, a notebook, and a Cascadian Farms sticker.

This month Cascadian Farms is introducing a new line of organic granola bars that are made with 9 or fewer ingredients in each bar!  The bars are going to be available in three flavors: Oats & Honey, Peanut Butter, and Oats & Cocoa.  The flavor that I was sent to try out was the Oats & Honey.

As you can see, these granola bars are made of only 7 ingredients, all of which you can pronounce and know what they are!  This bar contains toasted oats, floral honey, and Madagascar vanilla, just to name a few ingredients.  I really enjoyed these bars.  They were very crunchy and contained just the right amount of honey flavor.  It wasn’t overpowering at all.  I don’t really like how honey tastes so I was hoping that the flavor wasn’t going to be too strong.  You could taste more of the vanilla than honey flavor.  I thought it was great for an afternoon snack or to eat on the go!

The next product that I was sent to try was their new Berry Cobbler Granola cereal.

As soon as I saw this box, I ripped it open and started eating it straight from the box!  I LOVED this cereal so much.  I’m not exaggerating when I say, the box was gone within a few days.  I miss it now actually.  I also put some of the cereal on top of oatmeal.

Along with eating it out of the box, and on top of oatmeal,  I also enjoyed it with just almond milk.  I couldn’t get enough of this cereal.  There were chunks of dried cranberries and blueberries in the granola.  The granola had a perfectly toasted crunch.  It was addicting to eat.  I am a big fan of cranberry flavor especially when in cereal.  I have been looking for this cereal in stores because I really would like to eat it again but haven’t found it yet.  I don’t think it’s available just yet.  I know when it is, I will be buying a box!

I like supporting companies that are organic and don’t put preservatives or any other kinds of additives in their food.  I would eat that way all the time but it’s merely not feasible right now.  It can be very expensive.  I do hope to live an organic lifestyle in the future.  I think you should pay close attention to what foods and chemicals you are putting into your body.  You never know what kind of effect those additives or preservatives are going to have on your body.

I haven’t tried very many Cascadian Farms brand products but after trying these two and loving them, I definitely want to explore more into their product line.  In addition to cereals, granola and granola bars, they also have: frozen fruit, frozen vegetables, frozen potatoes, fruit spreads, juice concentrates and relish.  Have you ever tried any of Cascadian Farms products?  Do you eat organic?

Have a great Thursday!
