Calm Before The Storm…

Posted Apr 15 2014 6:52am

Hey there!  Happy Tuesday!  I hope you had a great weekend.  Did you do anything fun this weekend?  I got quite a few things accomplished this weekend.  On Friday, I didn’t really do much.  The extent of my Friday night was getting a gelati for dessert from my favorite water ice shop.  After a really stressful week, I knew a gelati from my favorite place would cheer me up.  That it did.

On Saturday, I went out with Melissa and my mom.  We went to quite a few stores because I was unhappy with the dress that I purchased to wear to the main event from my work next week that I’ve been planning.  There are several events that lead up to a larger event and I was just not happy with the original dress that I picked out.  Luckily, we were able to find another dress which looks much more flattering and actually has something to it.  It actually ended up being on clearance so I got an even better deal!  I was very happy with my purchase.  This is the dress that I got:

Petite Sleeveless Empire Waist Maternity Dress

It’s very flattering and I got a pair of black peep toe sandal heels to wear with it and another dress I am wearing during the events.  I was worried about wearing any of the heels that I currently have since all of those shoes have at least a 4 inch heel or higher.  I didn’t think that was a smart idea being pregnant and working these events running around.  So the shoes I got, only have about a 1-2 inch heel and are comfortable to wear.  The shoe looks like this:

Metaphor Women's Dress Shoe Stori - Navy at Sears.com

I think that will look cute with the dress.  I actually have a shoe that looks like this one but has MUCH higher of a heel on it.  I also spent under $20 for these shoes from Sears.  So that was even better!

On Sunday, Mike and I went food shopping and stocked up for the week.  We also did a ton of organizing in the baby’s room.  We made SO much progress. All that’s really left in that room now is furniture that we need to move into the garage and our computer desk that needs to be moved into our bedroom.  I’m so happy with the progress we made.  It was a lot of work but it was definitely much-needed and worth it.  I started hanging a few of the baby’s clothes in the closest that I have and it’s all starting to become more real that instead of just a second bedroom it’s going to be a nursery and a baby’s actual room.  That is exciting and scary at the same time.

Yesterday, started a hectic week.  This the week before my work’s huge events and it’s very hectic.  I’ve been stressed and running around like a crazy person.  I think I will feel extremely relieved next Sunday once everything is over.  It’s been a long and stressful road and I can’t wait for this event to come together.  After work, we went to my in-laws house for the first night of Passover.  It was nice to get together with Mike’s family.  Tonight, I will be making my mom’s recipe for matzah ball soup that I always make.  I cannot wait!  I love my mom’s recipe and I will be counting down the hours until I can make that soup tonight.  Yum!  What is a favorite family recipe of yours?

Have a great Tuesday!
