I had been looking forward to this passed weekend for a looong time, and now that it’s over, I’m very sad!
My mom threw me a second bridal shower in my hometown of Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. It was held at a restaurant on the ocean called SeaWatch .
A lot of my friends that have moved back home to Fort Lauderdale after college were able to come, and it was so fun to see everyone! After everyone arrived, lunch was served. There were two options of soup and salad- clam chowder or black bean soup, and chicken Caesar or Cobb salads. I went with the black bean soup and chicken Caesar, subbing in a vinaigrette instead of the regular dressing. The soup was suprisingly delicious! I didn’t get a picture of the salad, but it was equally delicious.Once lunch was finished, my mom served up slices of my absolute favorite cake in the entire universe- chocolate mousse! I started opening gifts while everyone enjoyed their dessert. Once again, I was definitely showered with gifts! Highlights included: a toaster (which we desperately needed), two adorable gift baskets- one was “baking” themed, and one was “pasta” themed, and…a juicer! Corey and I have been dying to jump on the juice bandwagon, and now, we can! Here’s a few more pictures from the day… As soon as the shower was over, my sister and I changed and she hurried off to finish up some last-minute details for my bachelorette party! There were 15 girls that came to my bachelorette party, and it was seriously the most fun night ever! We got rooms at the W Hotel Fort Lauderdale. My sister did a great job decorating- everything looked so cute! All the bridesmaids that came had pins that said “Bridal Party Official Member”, my sister wore one that said “Maid of Honor”, and mine said, “Bride to Be”. In the gift bags were custom tank tops that said “Carly’s Bachelorette Weekend” on the front with a girl sitting in a shot glass, and the back looked like this: If you frequent , you get it .After everyone was ready, we had drinks, ate sushi, and took some pictures before I sat down in my “throne” to open MORE gifts! This time, the presents were of the naughtier variety…but, unfortunately, I have no pictures of this occurrence! In fact, I have very few pictures of this entire night at all, and it makes me really depressed to think about. Oh well, clearly we were having too much fun to worry about documenting it all! We took a van to Downtown Fort Lauderdale and went around to all the bars. It was a little rainy, but we powered through! The next morning, my mom brought us breakfast (God bless her!), in the form of delicious hangover food- breakfast casserole and ham sammies! After eating, we headed down to the W Pool, which is an attraction of the hotel all on its own- it’s gorgeous! Unfortunately, the weather was kind of bleh, so we ended up only hanging around the pool for an hour or so before most of the girls decided to hit the road back to O-town. Thankfully, we did get ONE group picture for the weekend, even though a few girls are missing from it: It was such a fun weekend, and I was so happy that so many of my friends were able to be there. If you guys are reading, thank you for making my Bachelorette weekend so amazing! Love you all! Wedding Countdown: 18 days
