Bobby’s Burger Palace, Twilight, The Guilt Trip & Weekend Recap!…

Posted Dec 26 2012 6:56am

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  Wow, Wednesday!  Has it really been that long since I last post?  I apologize for that.  I really needed a break from the computer and just a chance to unwind.  I really wanted to update this weekend and then I didn’t feel like it.  So I took a break and now I am back at work!  At least I only have to work 3 days this week and then next week I only have to work 2 days.  So that will be nice.  I hope all of you had a great weekend and a great holiday!

I will begin with my recap starting with Friday.  My supervisor ended up LOVING his gifts!  I was so happy!  I was a little nervous he wasn’t going to like them but judging by his facial expressions and how excited he was when he opened his gifts, I’d say it was a winner!  Yay!  Mike and I decided to go out for dinner.  We had a gift card that Melissa and my mom got Mike for his birthday to Bobby’s Burger Palace !  Bobby’s Burger Palace is a burger restaurant that is owned by Chef Bobby Flay.

It is a quick service burger restaurant.  You place your order at a counter and then they give you a number.  There is communal seating but we ended up getting a semi-private seat.  They bring out your order to you by your number that you place in front of you.  You get your own drinks.  So you don’t need to leave a tip.  It’s a good concept.

I decided to order a turkey burger with cheese on it.  I left off the lettuce, tomato and onion because those things bother my stomach.

Mike decided to order the Buffalo Style Burger with hot sauce, blue cheese dressing and watercress on it.  He also made his burger crunchified which you can do with any burger.  They add potato chips to the actual burger!

Since we are both french fry fanatics we decided to order both regular fries and sweet potato fries.

The verdict: We LOVED it!  I haven’t had beef in a year now and sometimes you crave that fast food burger taste, well I had a turkey burger here and it tasted almost like fast food but obviously a higher quality.  It was delicious!  It was juicy but not greasy at all.  The fries were fresh hand cut fries!  So good!  The sweet potato fries were both of our favorites.  Mike really enjoyed his burger too.  We will most definitely be back!  Have you ever been to Bobby’s Burger Palace?  Regular fries or sweet potato fries?

We had some time to kill before going to see a movie.  So we walked around the mall, and then sat in Barnes and Noble for a bit talking and having some coffee.  Then it was time to see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2!  Oh my!  This was my FAVORITE out of all of the Twilight movies!  I thought it was the best one and I was so sad that is it over.  I am really glad that I watched all of the Twilight movies because I loved the series!  I thought the ending of the movie was great and I liked the credits too.  I was very pleased.

On Saturday, Mike and I went out to the mall and some stores just to browse and see what they had.  Mike was looking for a sweater and he actually ended up finding one that fit him great. So we were happy about that.  We made a pizza at home for dinner.

Then we picked up Melissa and went to Houlihan’s for some drinks.  It was nice to just sit and relax and have a cocktail after long days of working and what not.  I had fun.

On Sunday, I relaxed most of the day and then we went out to dinner with my in-laws and went back to their house for a little while to hang out.  It was nice to spend time with them.

On Monday, Melissa and I went to Peddler’s Village together!  We saw some incredible gingerbread houses!!!  They were so impressive.  I remember several years ago, Melissa and I made a gingerbread house and it actually turned out pretty good.  Not as good as those people who entered the competition but it was nice looking!  We also tasted some wine and bought this man!

When I saw him staring at us in the bakery, I knew he had to come home.  He was a little disappointing though because it didn’t have much gingerbread flavor.  Oh well.  He was cute to look at!  We went to Wegman’s for lunch which was fabulous!  We always enjoy ourselves there.  I did some food shopping and then we hung out back at her house for a little while.  Then Mike and I made an incredible dinner which I will feature and give the recipe for tomorrow!

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon watching tv and some Christmas movies.  Then we ventured to the movies and saw The Guilt Trip.  It was a funny movie!  I love Seth Rogan and Barbara Streisand together!  They have amazing chemistry!  They really could be mother and son.  We went out for Chinese food after.  Yay!  I finally got my Chinese.  Everyone had the same idea as us because the restaurant was packed to the brim!  Luckily, we got a table and didn’t have to wait too long.

So that was my weekend in a nutshell.  It went entirely too quickly and I’m looking forward to this next long weekend.  I hope that this one goes by much slower!  Have a great Wednesday!
