Blog Day of Silence

Posted Dec 17 2012 9:32am

I am deeply saddened by the horrible events that took place in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday.  I spent a lot of time over the weekend watching the heart-breaking news coverage and I simply cannot imagine what the families of the victims must be going through. Having a seven-year old sister myself, who is the picture of pure innocence and joy, makes my heart go out to these families even more. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and I hope they remain strong through this difficult time.

I have seen a few blogs that are treating today as a “Blog Day of Silence.” I’m not sure who started it, but I think it is a nice way to pay respect to the families and children of Sandy Hook Elementary. It just doesn’t seem right to post about the fun weekend that I had while so many others are in mourning. I want to honor the memory of those precious lives lost, and this is one small way I can think to do this. I hope you’ll join me in remembering, praying, and being with those you love most.
