Benefits of Soups

Posted Sep 13 2008 11:46pm

Soups are an ideal food as they have vegetables that are packed with vitamins, fibre and antioxidants that fight free radicals which prevent degenerative disease including cancer. The natural colour of the vegetables help in improving the haemoglobin, vitamin A , and calcium content , especially the leafy green in spinach. You can springle a dash of lemon too which provides vitamin C that helps absorb calcium and iron in the body. Garnish it well and use organic rock salt instead of the normal salt. Soups require minimum oil and thereby the fat content is low in them. They are easy to make, nutritious and a complete meal if you chop in lots of vegetables or mix in some lentils.
