Beautiful food in Istanbul

Posted Jan 01 2013 2:39pm
Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you’ve had a great first day to 2013 and that the rest of your year is filled with health and happiness! I hope you all had a wonderful time over Christmas too and managed to stay somewhat healthy despite all the sugary temptations! I somehow managed it and feel very proud of myself as a result – turns out a vegan christmas really is the most delicious and the most rewarding! I’m excited to plan next years menu already.

Anyway, I’ve  just spent the last week falling totally in love with Istanbul. It is the most wonderful city – so awesomely exciting with an amazing energy, the kindest people and the most beautiful places to visit. Even better though, it has delicious food! On every corner you see piles of the best dried fruit – my favourite being the dates, apricots, figs – as well as more nuts than you can possibly image, heaps of insanely colourful, totally exotic herbs and spices, brilliant dried tea mixes, awesome honey and nut based bars (I’m obsessed) and the world’s best, most freshest juices – pomegranate and orange being my new favourite, possibly the yummiest juice ever. It really is a beautiful site, and one that is a very welcome change to the McDonalds and fast food restaurants that fill every corner of London! Never have I been to a place where I can find something perfect to snack on every second of the day. It was just amazing! I had so much fun photographing everything I saw that I wanted to share just a few of my hundreds of photos with you! I hope you love them as much as I do.
