Hey there friends! I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to pop in on Friday with a Favorite Things Friday post for you all. Work has been absolutely insane and I even had to do a little work from home this weekend which is pretty unusual for me. To make it up to you guys, I promise to post my pictures from last week in this week’s Favorite Things Friday post, so expect double the pictures Yay! Nothing wrong with that now is there?
Anyway, I hope you guys had a great weekend! Mine was pretty fun so I’ll go ahead and give you a little recap.
[Rewind to Friday night]
As I mentioned above, work was pretty crazy on Friday so I really wanted to take it easy on Friday night and relax. Plus, the fact that Fabio and stayed out until 2:00 a.m. dancing the night before didn’t help. I was pretty exhausted all day at work and I just wanted to spend the evening curled up in my PJs on the couch. So, that’s what we did! Fabio and I ordered Chinese food and hung out watching TV. It was the perfect way to spend a Friday night when you don’t feel like going out!
On Saturday morning, Fabio and I woke up bright and early and felt well-rested after our evening in. It feel so good to wake up on a Saturday morning and not be hung over, I tell ‘ya.
Upon waking up we headed over to Brooklyn Bagels , a little bagel place near us and split a sausage, egg, and cheese everything bagel. So good!!
Then we drove over to the dog park to let Jack run around and get his energy out!
Every time we go to the dog park Jack finds some toy that he is obsessed with and carries it around with him everywhere. The weird part is he never actually plays with the toy, he just carries it around and shows it off. This time his toys of choice were this yellow ball, a giant tree branch that probably broke off during Hurricane Sandy, and a little blue rope.
Fabio and I love watching him carry around the toys and show them off to the other dogs. Haha! What a stud
After the dog park, Fabio and I quickly dropped Jack off at home and then rushed over to the dentist (so exciting, I know). The last time we went , our dentists’ polishing machine was broken so we had to reschedule a time to come back in to get it done (an inconvenience, to say the least).
Thankfully he was able to see us on a Saturday so we didn’t have to take off work. Win! And, even more thankfully, our dentist recently moved his office so now it’s only about two blocks away and we can walk there. Win again!
The dentist was fine and only took about 45 minutes for both of us, so we were outta there in no time.
After the dentist Fabio and I had a quick lunch (leftover Chinese. So good.) and then packed up our stuff to go to Baltimore!!
Fabio’s friends live in Federal Hill in Baltimore and even though we just visited them a couple of weeks ago, they were having a huge Halloween party on Saturday and we definitely didn’t want to miss it!
We arrived pretty early in the afternoon and had plenty of time to set up. One of our tasks was setting up the beer pong table and let’s just say, “warming it up” before the other guests arrived! Haha.
Once everyone started getting into their costumes, we realized we had left Jack’s redskins sweater at home! You remember, his Redskins sweater, right?
Of course you do How could you forget? Haha!
Anyway, we were planning to bring it as his “costume” but we forgot it at the last minute. Drat!!
Luckily we had some time to get creative and we were able to pull together a little something for him. It wasn’t ideal, but we didn’t have much to work with!
What do you guys think of his Jack-o-lantern costume?
Haha ok, ok. I know it’s pretty bad. But we didn’t have much to work with so it was better than nothing! I was also worried about whether Jack would mind it, but he was so excited to be around so many people that he didn’t even notice his costume! Yay!
Soon it was time to get dressed and I donned a National’s baseball uniform complete with tall red socks. Fabio was a Yankee player ( again ) so we were a nice little baseball duo. I tried to snap some good pictures for you guys, but I have to admit it was difficult.
First, our friend Brian decided it would be better if we had a picture of him instead.
Thanks, Brian. Haha.
Then Fabio was giving me trouble and thought it would be better to goof around than to pose for a boring picture (oh the things boys do when they want to seem cool in front of their friends! haha)
Finally we got it together…
There we go! Lol.
The party was a ton of fun and it got crowded fast! It was so nice seeing all of Fabio’s friends again, especially since there were some I hadn’t seen in months. After the party, we all headed out to the bars (some still in our costumes which garnered some strange looks lol). It was a great evening!
The next morning Fabio and I headed back home and spent most of the day relaxing on the couch, running some errands, and getting everything ready for the week.
We did make a trip out to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner to watch the Giants play. Unfortunately my Skins lost their game (boo!) but we had a fun time watching the Giants!
Fabio was lucky enough to score a few coupons for $10 off Buffalo Wild Wings after he hosted a Fantasy Draft there earlier this year, so now every Sunday he begs me to go with him to watch the games. It’s such a fun atmosphere that I usually can’t resist!
For our dinner we first ordered mozzarella sticks…
which were phenomenal. I don’t know how Buffalo Wild Wings makes their mozzarella sticks, but they are always perfectly gooey and cheesy. In fact, I believe they are almost as good as Fabio’s homemade mozzarella sticks , but we don’t have to tell him that
For my entree I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, which was just ok. It was a little too spicy for my tastes, and there was a little too much of the wrap. I wound up picking out most of the pieces of chicken and eating them plain at the end haha.
After Buffalo Wild Wings Fabio and I headed back home to relax with Jack and, of course, watch Homeland. This week’s episode was so good! Please tell me you watched it.
So anyway, that’s my recap of the weekend! It was a perfect balance of time spent relaxing and time spent with friends. I wish there had been a few more healthy choices in there, but hey, that’s what the rest of the week is for, right?
Question of the day: Which do you prefer, weekends where you mostly stay in and relax or weekends where you go out more?
I usually like to stay in one night and go out one night. I find it’s a good balance for me!
