Good Evening Peeps! I've been doing some baking and un-baking with the dehydrator. These bars were suppose to be Oatmeal Breakfast Bars from Montel Williams "HealthMaster" blender, etc. machine, but they didn't turn out so well. The book said to bake them at 200 degrees for 3 hours, but they came out like hockey pucks...lol!!! The flavor was really good. The ingreds. were uncooked oatmeal, molasses, cinnamon, walnuts, raisins, and I added 2 packets of stevia. Next time I am going to check them at 2 hours.
They don't really look like hockey pucks, but my sis tried to eat one and she could hardly break it into two pieces....lol!
Now, for the un-baking, Gina (aka the fitnessista ) makes raw macaroons all the time and I used to make them alot too a couple of years ago when Cliff and I was eating more raw (which we may go back to doing this more). The top rack are vanilla ones, 2nd rack....lemon and the 3rd....choc.
The recipe is: 2 cups unsweetened coconut, 2 medjool dates, 1/2 cup honey, 2 tsp. vanilla extract (vanilla ones), 3 T. lemon juice (lemon ones), 1 - 2 T. cocoa (choc. ones). Blend ingreds. in food processor. I use a small ice cream scoop for measuring out. Place on teflex sheet of dehydrator. (105 degrees for 6 - 8 hours depending on how you like them)!
