Adopt a Blogger

Posted Feb 15 2010 10:08pm

While I was checking updates on Twitter, I came across a tweet called Adopt a Blogger which is a program sponsored by Kristin at Dine and Dish. Adopt a Blogger is a program where experienced bloggers act as mentors to newer bloggers. This is a great advantage for new bloggers to gain knowledge from their mentor's expertise and knowledge in the world of blogging. This also helps build communities by passing on what we've learned.

My blog is more than a year now but I still don't consider myself as an experienced blogger. While I know how to publish a simple post and upload photos, there is still so much to learn. I finally have my mentor and I would learn from him for the next three months.

I've learned about this blogger through Jaden Hair's Steamy Kitchen blog post Julie and Julia: A Winner. I checked his blog and and I'm amazed by this talented and creative 17 year old (almost 18?) blogger from New York City. I've been following him ever since. Not only is he a great writer, he is also an amazing photographer who designs his own beautiful blog. He is also an inspiration and someone who exudes infectious confidence and enthusiasm. He was the featured chef for US Wellness Meat and is encouraging parents to get your kids in the kitchen at a very young age.

He is truly sophisticated and when I learned that he's going to be my mentor, I was really excited and honored. You can also learn more about him at That's So Yummy.

Do you know who I am talking about?

Well, there's only one teen blogger from New York City and he's none other than Kamran Siddiqi of The Sophisticated Gourmet.

With Kamran, it's always a pleasure.

Love and light,
