A Perfectly Planned Trip!!…

Posted Nov 20 2013 6:53am

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!!  Oh, today is going to be a good day I can feel it!  I’m still very happy from Melissa and my shopping trip last night and I was also able to finally print a coupon out this morning that I’ve been trying to print for a week now!!  Hah, it’s the little things in life that make me happy.

I originally thought I was going to stand in line for free coffee this morning at a new breakfast store that was going to open but I haven’t heard that they were opening today at all.  So I was a little disappointed by that.  If you are the first 100 people in line you get free coffee for a year!  Not a bad deal if you ask me.  Plus, it’s on my way to work.  So I will just have to wait until they officially post that they are opening.  At least I didn’t have to get up as early as I thought I was going to today.  That is a good thing.

Let me get started on talking about this perfectly planned trip that Melissa and I had together!  Before our perfect trip to ShopRite , we went out for dinner.  We decided on Chinese and went to a restaurant that we haven’t been to before and it was delicious.

Needless to say, I have my lunch already prepared for today.  There was way too much food but worth it because it was cooked perfectly and not greasy or oily at all.  Melissa and I agreed that we would both love to go back because it was really good there.  It was actually crowded inside too.  Do you like Chinese food?  What is you favorite dish?

After dinner, Melissa and I went to ShopRite.  This ShopRite triples coupons as well.  We both were armed with our coupons and ready to go!  We needed to earn more points towards a free turkey but the goal was not to spend more than $5 total.  Every single year, we have earned enough points for the free turkey and I was very afraid that we were not going to be able to do it this year.  So we both did our research and brought our coupons together and we were armed and ready to go at the store!

Look at how well we did!

As you can see, our total savings for our trip was $107.77!!!  We ended up spending out-of-pocket $3.72!!!  We beat our goal!  I was beyond the point of excited! We got so many items and here is a sampling of a few of them:

FREE Lindt Excellence Coconut Chocolate Bar

There were actually 4 Cracker Barrel cheeses but Melissa has one, and 4 Kraft Fresh Takes

2 loaves of this bread completely free!

In addition to those items we got free items such as deodorant, AXE men’s body spray, laundry detergent, air freshener, 2 Mrs. Smith’s pies, 2 boxes of rice crackers, a can of organic tomato sauce, 4 boxes of cake mix, can of pumpkin puree, a package of turkey bacon, and a container of yogurt.  I’m sure I missed some items here and there that we got for free but I can’t remember completely.

The best part of this trip was the fact that a $5 off my next purchase Catalina printed out from the Kraft Fresh Take and Cracker Barrel deal that we did!  For all of those items, we paid $1.08 total and ended up getting paid $5 to take them out of the store!!!  I couldn’t believe how amazing we did at the supermarket.

We are now only about $30 away from our free turkey which we will be able to pull together easily and possibly pay close to nothing for it on Sunday for our shopping trip.  I am so excited!  This was by far the best shopping trip that Melissa and I ever had together!  It was all due to our team work.  I was beyond the point of excited of what we were able to accomplish and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her.  We are a couponing team!  Yay!

So there you have it!  My exciting evening in a nutshell.  It really does pay to coupon.  On that note,  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
