A Cookie Monster Kind of Evening!…

Posted Dec 20 2012 6:47am

Hi there!  Happy Thursday to you!  We are approaching the last day of work for myself until Wednesday!  Woohoo!  I could definitely use this break that is ahead of us.  I can’t wait to just relax and spend time with those that I love.  It should be nice!  I still have some things to get done tonight for present exchange at work tomorrow.  I have to get everything for my supervisors gift tonight.  So hopefully that will all work out the way that I want it to so I won’t be running to a million and one stores.  Fingers crossed!

Anyway, yesterday after work, I picked up Melissa and we ventured to Walmart.  We haven’t been there in a such a long time!  I was looking for inspiration and cheaper ingredients to make cookies.  I have really been slacking this year.  Usually every year, Melissa and I have Bakefest on the weekend.  You can find both of my Bakefest posts here and here .  Due to my lack of planning and financial constraints, I have really slacked on it this year.  I’m kind of upset about it and it really made me stressed out.  I did the best that I could this year and that is all that matters, right?  It’s the thought that counts.  So we searched through Walmart and found a few things.  We stumbled across these Oreo’s that I have heard about but never actually seen in the store!

Yes!!  Gingerbread Oreo’s!!!!  I was in heaven and had to buy these.  These cookies are ONLY sold at Walmart.  I’m not quite sure why that is the only store that sells them but I’m glad that they do.  Not only does the creme center taste like gingerbread but the actual Oreo cookie itself, tastes like gingerbread!!  How incredible is that?  I really like these!  Plus the packaging is so cute.  It reminds me of the Candy Corn Oreo’s that they had during Halloween.  They were very similar because they were the Golden Oreo’s.

We picked up a few other things and then stopped at Dunkin’ Donuts.  I decided to keep my breakfast for dinner going strong.  So last night I ended up ordering egg and cheese on a bagel with home fries.

The home fries from Dunkin’ are so good!  They are seasoned and have crunch to them.  They were the perfect complement to my breakfast sandwich.  Yum!  I just love breakfast.  After we ate dinner, we decided to make one batch of cookies that we bought at the store. When I saw this package, I knew I had to buy it. Once you see, you will know why.

I am a HUGE Disney fanatic as most of you already know.  When I saw these sitting on the shelf,  I knew I had to make these for friends!  They are super cute!  I love the Mickey’s on the cookies.  They are beyond the point of cute!  I love that Pillsbury made these for the holidays.

They turned out super cute and I think my friend’s will think of me when they see them because I am such a Disney fanatic.  I need to pick up another package of these before they leave the stores.  They are just too cute.  After we baked these cookies, I hung out for a little while and then ventured home to finish some other cookies that Melissa and I started the other night.

I finished up the funfetti cake truffles and coated them in chocolate.  They turned out great!

I also had double chocolate chip cookies that Melissa and I made the other night.

Overall, I think they all turned out pretty nice.  I didn’t get to make everything that I wanted to but hopefully next year I will plan a lot better.  I was disappointed but I can still make cookies throughout the year.  After all, I have a ton of Pinterest recipes calling my name!  Do you bake cookies for the holiday?  What is your favorite kind of cookie?

That is a really tough question for me.  Let’s see, I love peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin cookies, and my mind is drawing a blank.  I am not too picky when it comes to cookies.  I like most cookies.  Mike is a huge cookie fan.  So we usually have some varieties of cookies in the house.  His favorite are Oreo’s.  So we always have them in the pantry.  I am a fan of softer cookies.  I like to bite into a cookie and have it be a soft and plushy.  I hate hard cookies.  I am not a fan of those.

Anyway, that is my story for today.  I hope you have a lovely Thursday!  Stay warm!
