5 ways to Protect yourself from E.coli

1-If you're buying bagged or precut produce, only buy it if it is refrigerated or on ice and stored away from the meat cases.

2-Always store fruits and veggies above meats and eggs in the refrigerator. This will keep them from being contaminated by broken eggs or dripping meat packages.

3-Always wash produce and your hands thouroughly.

4-Use separate cutting boards for meat and produce.

5-The FDA recommends cooking produce to a temperature of 160ºF for at least 15 seconds. Those instant read thermometers aren’t just for your steak any more. Keep a separate one for veggies to avoid cross contamination.
