Hey there! Happy Wednesday to you! We’ve finally reached the middle of the week. How about that weather yesterday?! I don’t know if you experienced that or not but I sure did. Right when I was ready to leave work, there were torrential downpours of rain filled with thunder and lightning. It made for a scary and wet drive home. Thankfully it didn’t last too long and then the sun came out. I think we are supposed to get more rain tomorrow and then the weekend should be nice. So that is good. I can take a little bit of rain for a trade-off of beautiful weather.
Anyway, let’s get to my 28 Week recap! I have officially entered the 3rd trimester! I cannot believe it. I know this is probably going to be the most uncomfortable trimester but everything is worth it because at the end I will finally have her in my arms. It’s a little scary too because we still need so much and our furniture has not come in yet. I think once her furniture comes in and we are able to set up her room, it will all feel more real like she is going to be here soon.
28 Weeks Pregnant
Fun Facts About the Baby At 28 Weeks
By this week, the baby weighs 2 1/4 pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels.
She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb.
She’s also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
How far along? 28 Weeks & 4 Days
Baby’s size? A large eggplant
Maternity clothes? Yes, I wouldn’t dream of wearing my regular clothes at this point or that I’d even fit into them. I still need to purchase a bathing suit but I am waiting for them to go on sale or get a good deal on one.
Stretch marks? No, knock on wood.
Sleep: I find myself waking up constantly throughout the night. I toss and turn a lot to get comfortable and my allergies are just terrible despite taking allergy medicine. My nose is either stuffy or runny constantly. It keeps me up or wakes me up.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby’s face in 3D/4D! There is nothing like that moment. I will share next week hopefully.
Miss Anything? No, not at all.
Movement: I feel a ton of movement. I think she had the hiccups the other night because my stomach was hopping from the outside for a while and I felt so bad for her. I didn’t know how to make it stop but I know it’s normal. It was cute but I felt bad at the same time.
Food cravings: Cheese, Decaf Iced Coffee, Hot Dogs (I found a brand that does not contain nitrates or preservatives and it’s delicious!), ice cream in a cone with sprinkles, pasta
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, not really.
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!
Symptoms: Round ligament pain, tired, breakouts on my face/body, heartburn, charlie horses in my legs/feet, indigestion, swollen feet, back pain, pain shooting down my leg, breast leakage (using nursing pads), itchy skin, greasy hair.
Belly Button in or out? In. I don’t think my belly button will be popping out. Since I had an appendectomy, they go through your belly button and mine stitched in a way that I don’t think it’s possible to pop out and that is perfectly fine by me.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I’m happy most of the time. I do find myself feeling like my hormones go through the roof at any given moment.
Looking forward to: My OB appointments every two weeks now, planning my baby shower, our labor and delivery class on Sunday!
So there you have it! My 28 Week recap! It’s crazy to think that I will be 30 weeks soon! I hope these next few weeks go by very quickly so I can finally meet her.
