In my efforts to simplify my life, I’ve learned that getting rid of the clutter (all kinds!) is an essential element of the process. Thankfully, I thoroughly enjoy a good de-cluttering session, so that was a pretty easy lesson to learn.
I am fully aware, though, that not everyone shares my love of the de-cluttering process. (Ahem. I’m married to just such a person.) Sorting through our collected junk can be a painful, tedious procedure that most of us would rather not endure. However, I do believe that each and every one of us enjoys the results of a good clutter purge, so I think it’s a procedure worth enduring.
There is a way to make the process a little less painful and perhaps even fun! I’ve identified 28 hot-spots of clutter in the average home and developed 28 daily tasks that should take you no more than 10 minutes. That’s a total of 280 minutes – less than 5 hours – spread over the course of a month that will give you hugely satisfying results… and will simplify your home life!
I’ve broken down the tasks into the following areas:
Home Office and/or Craft Room
Each day’s task will focus on a particular spot in each of those areas and will require no more than 10 minutes of your time. If you have a little extra time (or a big cluttering problem) you can get extra credit by completing additional tasks that will require more time and involvement.
