21 Weeks!…

Posted Apr 16 2014 6:55am

Hey there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  We made it to the middle of the week already. We just have two more days to get through and then this week is done.  This week continues to be stressful for me and it’s only going to get worse as we get closer to the events next week.  I’m just hoping that I can survive all of this.  It’s a lot to handle for anyone but it’s multiplied when you are pregnant.  I’m trying to take it easy as much as I can but it’s hard when you are under a ton of pressure.

Anyway, last night when I got home from work, I started on Matzah Ball soup for Passover!  I ALWAYS make my mom’s recipe.  She really has the best recipe and it’s so simple and brings a lot of flavor.  Matzah ball soup is my favorite soup and I don’t know why I only make it on Jewish holidays.  I’m going to start making it throughout the year.  It’s that good.

I can’t wait to have the leftovers tonight!  I made sure to make a ton of soup because I know how much Mike and I enjoy eating it.  The soup really does bring me back to my childhood and I’ve had it every single year of my life.  I can’t wait to share this soup tradition with our daughter.  I think the most special moment will be when she can make the soup with me.  I really cannot wait for that.

Speaking of which, I am 21 Weeks this week.  Let’s get started with my recap!

21 Weeks Pregnant

Fun Facts About the Baby At 21 Weeks

  • Baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long.
  • You may soon feel like she’s practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better.
  • In other developments, your baby’s eyebrows and lids are present now.
  • The baby swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so she eats whatever’s on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use.

How far along? 21 Weeks & 4 Days

Baby’s size? A pomegranate

Maternity clothes? Yes, please.  They are much more comfortable.  I bought a different dress to wear to my fancy work event and that was all the maternity clothes I bought this past week.  I really need to get a pair of jean capris and summer/spring clothes because I barely have any.

Stretch marks? No, still using lotion.

Sleep: It’s hard to sleep.  I still get up numerous times a night.  I toss and turn a lot to get comfortable.  I might need to start putting a small pillow under my stomach so I can get a better nights sleep.

Best moment this week: Clearing out a lot of the baby’s room to make room for her items.  Also, feeling a lot of twitching this week that seems to be getting stronger each day.  I hope that means I will feel a strong kick soon!

Miss Anything?  No, not at all.

Movement: I feel a ton of twitching in my belly like I mentioned above.  I still don’t feel strong kicks but I hope they are coming.

Food cravings: Cheese, Decaf Coffee, Decaf Iced Coffee, Texas Toast Croutons, Pineapple, Salad, Matzah with butter on it

Anything making you queasy or sick:  The thought of Mexican food makes me not want to eat it for some reason and I love Mexican food.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!

Symptoms: Round ligament pain, tired, breakouts on my face/body, headaches, heartburn, charlie horses in my legs/feet

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: I can be quite moody this week.  I think it’s because of all of the stress I’m under.

Looking forward to: Feeling those kicks from the baby and surviving my work event next week.

So there you have my 21st Week recap!  I don’t have my next appointment until the end of the month.  I’m looking forward to that appointment only to hear the baby’s heartbeat again.  That sound never gets old.

Alright, well have a lovely day!
