Bio
I am a second year graduate student at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, in Boston, Massachusetts, the only graduate and professional school of nutrition in North America. I am pursuing my master’s degree in Nutrition Communications there, as well as my registration as a dietitian at the Frances Stern Nutrition Center at Tufts Medical Center. I received my two bachelor’s degrees from the Michigan State University Honors College, in 2008, in both Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences. I am passionate about communicating health and nutrition information, and I hope to translate this passion into a career when I finish my degree and receive my registration as a dietitian in the spring of 2010.
My passion for food – eating it, baking it, cooking it, buying it – started with my very first Easy Bake Oven, and let me tell ya, I could make one mean brownie with that light bulb. I continued to obsess over eating and preparing food as I grew older, until eventually, college gave me the option to look at the science behind the food – nutrition. The idea that I could turn my love for food into an actual career still amazes me today. I started Healthy Blog Snack for all of the busy people out there who love food, nutrition, and health, but only have time for a bite or two at each sitting. It is the place to nibble on fun, food, fitness, and nutrition, as HBS serves up recipes, nutrition facts, fun food info, and food & nutrition news.
