Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) usually causes oral herpes (cold sores or fever blisters) on the face and mouth.

Treatment includes medication for fever and taking plenty of fluids.

The sores and symptoms of oral herpes completely clear up in 2-3 weeks. But the sores may reappear under certain stressful situations.

Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) usually causes genital herpes. The VD symptoms of genital herpes may include:

A rash, bumps, blisters, cuts, or sores in or around the genital area (vagina, vulva, anus, penis, or scrotum)

Aches or pains in or around the genital areaItching, burning, tingling, or swelling in or around the genital area

Discharge from the penis or vagina

Burning and/or pain when urinating

Flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, and swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the groin

There is no treatment that can cure herpes STD, but antiviral medications can shorten and prevent outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication. In addition, daily suppressive therapy for symptomatic herpes can reduce transmission to partners.

Best to check with a doctor to examine and do herpes lab blood test for a correct diagnosis.
