Are you familiar with Wellsphere? The Wellsphere HealthBlogger Network is “the world’s premier network of health writers, including nearly 2,000 of the Web’s leading health bloggers.” You can check out Wellsphere online at www.wellsphere.com.
Recently I was contacted by Dr. Geoff Rutledge, the chief medical information officer for Wellsphere. He extended an invitation to syndicate my healthcare marketing blog content in order to make it available to Wellsphere’s readers. Wellsphere has more than 4 million unique visitors each month. According to their promotional materials, it is the fastest growing consumer health website, having recently merged with the HealthCentral Network. Combined, they reach more than 10 million people a month. Of course my content is not consumer-oriented and will be featured in their Health Industry & Policy community, as well as on relevant Wellpages throughout the site.
You may notice the new Wellsphere widget I’ve placed on this blog. If you click on the actual widget (not the image in this post), you will be redirected to the Healthcare Industry & Policy Community where soon my posts will be republished. I’ll let you know how this works out and how it impacts traffic on my various blogs. This could be a good thing. We’ll see. There has been some controversy among health bloggers around the topic of Wellsphere’s Top HealthBlogger Network. Although we are not giving up our copyright to our work, we are providing them a feed to reuse our original materials, without payment. The compensation comes in the form of exposure to a wider audience and a link back to the original blog. If you’re thinking about joining the HealthBlogger network, check out some of the chatter online. You won’t have any problem finding it.
